As part of the rehabilitation of Bridge 1286 on Puerto Rico Highway 52 (Autopista Luis A. Ferré), Aluma Systems provided a suspended access solution to support deck rehabilitation works while maintaining safe and efficient access beneath the bridge structure.
Working in close collaboration with the contractor, JA Development, Aluma Systems supplied a purpose-built suspended platform system that enabled construction activities to be carried out safely and productively in a challenging work environment.
Puerto Rico Highway 52 is the island's longest and one of its busiest highways, making efficient bridge maintenance essential to minimizing disruption and keeping this critical transportation corridor operational.
The rehabilitation works required safe and reliable access beneath the bridge deck, where conventional access methods were limited by the bridge geometry and working conditions. A stable working platform was needed to provide efficient access for crews while supporting productivity throughout the project.
Aluma Systems provided its QuikDeck® Suspended Access System, specifically engineered to create a flat, stable working platform beneath the bridge deck.
The modular, pre-engineered design of QuikDeck allowed for fast installation without the need for specialized tools while adapting easily to the bridge's complex geometry. The suspended platform provided safe and efficient access to otherwise difficult-to-reach work areas, helping the contractor perform rehabilitation activities with greater productivity and improved safety.
By combining engineered access solutions with technical expertise, Aluma Systems supported the successful execution of this bridge rehabilitation project.
