Estrel Tower

Providing modern formwork and self-climbing wind screen protection for Berlin's new landmark

Scope

Formwork and safety solutions for the 176m high building

Challenge

Forming in great heights while providing full wind and fall protection for the workers with SAFESCREEN

Performance

The 176m Estrel Tower, commissioned by the Streletzki family, is the highest commercial building in Berlin, posing a new landmark. It provides space for the Estrel hotel with 525 guest rooms, offices and co-working spaces, as well as public areas for fitness and events.

Hünnebeck provided formwork for all pillars of the 45-storey tower that has a diamond shaped floor plan as well as the self-climbing wind protection system SAFESCREEN that gives all-round protection to the construction workers. Thanks to the integrated safety level platforms and collapsible collecting bins, no one has to leave the protected area – not even to remove the climbing brackets. The shell construction is based on a formwork and safety concept that Hünnebeck designed especially for this project.
