The Rise Tower is a mixed-use supertall skyscraper under construction in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Designed to reach approximately 475 metres with 99 storeys, the high-rise development will include hotel accommodation, offices, residential units and commercial spaces.
Aluma Systems supported the construction of the building’s reinforced concrete core by designing and supplying the Tru-Lift self-climbing formwork system. The engineered solution was developed to enable safe, precise and efficient construction as the concrete core advanced to increasing heights.
The construction of a supertall building places particularly high demands on formwork engineering, logistics and jobsite safety. As the Rise Tower core progressed vertically, the construction team required a formwork solution capable of operating efficiently at great heights while maintaining dimensional accuracy and consistent concrete quality.
Conventional crane-dependent formwork methods would have placed additional demands on crane capacity and construction logistics. The system therefore needed to climb independently, provide secure working areas for the construction crews and support repeatable floor-to-floor construction cycles.
The complex geometry and scale of the reinforced concrete core also required a project-specific solution that could be adapted to the structural design of the tower.
Aluma Systems designed and supplied the Tru-Lift self-climbing formwork system for the construction of the Rise Tower concrete core.
Using hydraulic climbing technology, the system moves vertically without relying on a crane for each climbing operation. This supports efficient construction cycles while freeing crane capacity for other materials and activities on the high-rise jobsite.
The integrated working platforms provided safe and stable work areas for formwork, reinforcement and concrete operations. The system was engineered to match the geometry of the building core, supporting accurate positioning, consistent concrete results and controlled progress from one level to the next.
By combining self-climbing formwork technology with project-specific engineering and technical support, Aluma Systems helped the construction team increase productivity, safety and quality control during the vertical construction of Rise Tower. BrandSafway has identified the project as a major example of self-climbing formwork for high-rise construction.
